but evolution to use gnome 2.0 is stil a bit onger int the future, right?

One major problem with mozilla as a mail client for me (my mom uses it,
BTW): you can't force the base directionality.

reading Hebrew messages like that is kind of uncomfortable.

pineheb (from which I'm writing this message) has an incorrect Hebrew
support: it composes visual Hebrew.

There is a logicvsl Hebrew pine patch circulating for a while, but I
haven't yet had the time to examine it)

Anyway, there are generally some ways to resonably work with pine with
logical Hebrew. I personally still have problems with UTF-8 messages.

Can anybody please give me instructions how to read UTF-8 messages on a
solaris system? my current bidiv copy does not seem up to the task.

A number of things:

1. less contributions to the general (english) body of knowledge. e.g: try
STWFing for some Hebrew phrase.

2. there are some technical difficulties. Don't underestimate them.

3. I suggest to start with the gnubies list, and see how it goes there.
Alternatively, maybe setup a seperate list (r sublist? des listar
   support this notion?)

4. I hope that the archive will supprt on-the-fly conversin of the
messages to UTF-8. When I search the messages archive I don't want to
   care what was theoriginal charset.
