I already have the 7.0 version installed on a machine here, and like it
a lot. I just thought that in the name of progress, I should use the
8.0 release for my new laptop (I'd try a netinstall, but I only have
USB floppy. And while the BIOS emulates quite well, Linux doesn't use
the BIOS to access the floppy, thus when it time to switch to the 2nd
disk, I'm at lost).

Unlike some, I don't like to fiddle with obscure configuration files in
order to watch a video file, or to make gcc work. If I'd like exploring
obscure bits, I'd get a girlfriend, not a PC.

One day, I'll get myself a preconfigured UNIX machine (I saw some cheap
SGIs on eBay). They have their oddities, but at least most features
work out of the box. Until then, SuSE seems like a fair deal for me:
I pay 50$ (Compared to Windows at >100$. And Windows doesn't come with
any software I find useful), and get a distribution that takes less
then 15 minutes to configure to my liking (I was told Mandrake should
do that. I still can't get the stock installation to link against the
QT libraries).

Aside from that, nothing personal to the one who offered to share his
7.3 discs, but if I'm paying for Linux, I want some (if not most) of
the money to be used to finance new code, not somebody endavours
(Which, facing the situatuion, might deserve a reward), to get SuSE in
Israel.

        Shay.
