well, amir gave up on mandrake, and switched to RH 7.2 ;) so i donno who 
relevant is that advise. 
the truth is that the upgrade went well, but i saw to many memory leaks and 
bad performance. on top of that, kde3 did not install properly. i am now with 
RH, and very happy with it (thanks, hetz)

its up to you. if you want to stick with MDK, i think upgrading will work for 
you (depends how complicated your current system is of course)
