The major change from gnome 1.4 to gnome 2.0 is gtk 2.0 . Many of the
major gnome applications have not yet been ported to gnome 2. This also
includes gnumeric and evolution. It appears that all the major gnome
programs have not yet ben ported to gnome 2.

I believe that the change from gnome 1 to gnome 2 is bigger than the
change from KDE 2 to KDE 3, in terms of different interfaces and different
behaviour of programs. In some ways it could be compared to the change
from KDE 1 to KDE2.

At the time Mandrake 8.2 was out, gtk2 was not yet available. At the time
redhat 7.3 will be out it will be an exciting new (and buggy) library.

I certainly hope to see it in the next x.0 versions of redhat and
Mandrake, and maybe then someone can volunteer to translate redhat's or
mandrake's tools to Hebrew.
