3.0 final has been tagged - I think monday/tuesday there will be binary
packages available.

Redhat 8.0 will be available around October, not before. You probably talk
about the upcoming Red Hat which will be ... Red Hat 7.3

Tagged already. binaries should be available soon.

SuSE stopped released free ISO's (only live evaluation version is available -
not much useless) for a very simple - most of the downloaders are simply
leechers - they (the downloaders) don't and not planning to buy it, which
means for SuSE - for every download, they loose a sale - so they don't offer
SuSE ISO's for PC (X86) any more. Only non X86 (and not S/390 & AS/400).

It's Red Hat 7.3 - not 8.0. It's just an update. 8.0 will be available around
October (just my guess from previous Red Hat releases).

Regarding upgrading to GNOME 2.0 - people will install it from Ximian and keep
updating from Ximian (most of them). Of course - you'll need to remove all
those Ximian RPMS if you're upgrading to a newer version of Red Hat (or
de-select GNOME from the RH installation) - but thats another issue.

The Wine developers (I follow this issue too) are now plannning a set of
stress testing tools. Expect Wine 1.0 between 12-18 months.
