hi

I tried to remove lvm from my computer
i removed all LVs and VGs.
i didnt find any way of removyng the PVs.

so with fdisk i removed /dev/hda4 which was my lvm partition,
then rm -rf /etc/lvm*
then reboot.

when i tried to creat new partitions with fdisk /dev/hda
when writing changes to disk, i get:
...
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
Re-read table failed with error 16: Device or resource busy.
Reboot your system to ensure the partition table is updated.
..
doing pvscan, i get :
pvscan -- reading all physical volumes (this may take a while...)
pvscan -- ERROR "pv_read(): PV identifier invalid" reading physical
volumes

i also tryed to zero the place my old lvm (with dd if=/dev/zero )
but that didnt help

any idea ?
erez
