Part of this is because it takes uw-imapd a long time to parse a mailbox
in the default mbox format: it has to read the whole file.

This will not be needed if I switch to another mail folder format.

courier has also a mail delivery program (maildrop) and a webmail client
(SqWebMail (?)). Hwever both postfix and procmail can deliver mail to a
maildir, and webmail clients that support an IMAP server are dirt-cheap
;-) .

Any good reason to use maildrop and/or SqWebMail?
