I'm not sure if it is a problem with MacOS and Solaris, or with big-endian
systems (PowerPCs, Sparcs, etc.).

Anyway, bidirectional rendering has wworked with linux since 0.9.1, and
arabic shaping has worked since 0.9.4 (I believe).
