(1) My experience is that www.bookpool.com will turned out cheaper. I have not look at the specific titles you mention. (2) I am not familiar with any of the titles you mentioned. Yet by their _names_ they seems to be of the more practical and/or reference nature. Which also seems to be what you are looking for. My point is that free documentation like the one that the LDP carries can give you plenty of it, and probably more. Have you looked at the LDP guides? huji mirrors it too (http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/docs/LDP), and for a good reason. Assuming that nobody at huji will object and/or notice, you might print the postscript or pdf versions and make some good books out of it. There also seems to be other interesting titles at the huji docs folder. If you insists on buying a book then I would buy something of a more fundamental and/or theoretical nature. (3) Just curious, what have you bought for C++? I am willing to give away Lippman's C++ Primer _2nd_ edition. However you will have to meet me in Dizingoff street (Tel Aviv) in order to have totally free. Alternatively I am willing to send it by mail if you will send me a letter with the stamps or their cost. (1-800-212121 quotes 4.60 NIS for the shipment of a 1kg envelope, inside Israel). > > Red Hat Linux: The Complete Reference, Second Edition > by Richard Petersen > >(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0072191783/glance/ref=pm_dp_ln_b_1/103-3324216-7686207) > Nov2001, 1117 p., $35 > > Linux Desk Reference > by Scott Hawkins > >(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0130619892/contents/ref=pm_dp_ln_b_2/103-3324216-7686207) > > Red Hat Linux 7.2 Bible Unlimited Edition (With CD-ROM) Sep1999, 980p., > $28 > by Chris Negus, Christopher Negus > >(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764536303/qid=1012820451/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_79_1/103-3324216-7686207) > Nov2001, 950p., $35 > > > My current Linux experience is "intermediate-", My goals are: everyday sys > administering of couple networked stations and C++ (non-system) > programming (I'm buying another book for this goal) > > Thanks a lot > > ================================================================= > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command > echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- Shaul Karl email: shaulka(at-no-spam)bezeqint.net Please substitute (at-no-spam) with an at - @ - character.
