Hi all.
I have some extra bucks to spend on a book, so I thought "why not a Linux
book". After searching on amazon.com, I've came up with three major
candidates. The problem is that I don't trust the reviewers that are cited
on the site, so I thought to ask some recommendations from this honorable
forum.
Those are the candidates:

Red Hat Linux: The Complete Reference, Second Edition
by Richard Petersen

Nov2001, 1117 p., $35

Linux Desk Reference
by Scott Hawkins

Red Hat Linux 7.2 Bible Unlimited Edition (With CD-ROM) Sep1999, 980p.,
$28
by Chris Negus, Christopher Negus

Nov2001, 950p., $35

My current Linux experience is "intermediate-", My goals are: everyday sys
administering of couple networked stations and C++ (non-system)
programming (I'm buying another book for  this goal)

Thanks a lot
