I agree with the above, but:

They don't want to charge you for a license fee (read: they may charge you
later for a license fee). Do they mention anywhere the expected license
cost?

They have every legal right to charge you for license fees. Wine is not
under any GPL/LGPL license, and anybody can fork a propriotary product
from its codebase.
