i tried to install ximian desktop on my mandrake 8.1, and the reason its not suppoerted is because of rpm 4.0.3 . Only earlier versions of rpm are supported. on the other hand, I went through ximian's knowledge base, and there it says that RH7.2 IS supported.(which also uses rpm 4.0.3) The error I get in the ximian installer, right after it finishes connecting to the mirror sites is : "Unable to download package set info". whats the diference ? It looks like the reason is NOT the rpm version, but something else. Anyone knows what might be the difference ? Or, did anyone managed to install ximian's desktop on MDK 8.1 ?
