This list is not dead at all. Posts sent there get answered. And some of
the subscribers are more tolerant there towards newbies than here.

I removed the direct link to linux-il from the FAQ "help" page (there is a
link to the lists of mailing lists, and to gnubies-il. "when in doubt,
post to gnubies-il".
