I thought so too, but they need to send tons of emails (big postscripts, tiff files, etc) and today their mac's are unusable while sending those emails (Mac and multi tasking up until OS X wasn't good - and that said being polite). So I thought to stick a Linux machine there, KDE is a GUI (it's not that the machine would be very busy), SMTP service, NAT & Firewall..
