Surprise surprise. Alcatel Desires to be Cisco, or something.

Port forwarding is available! :-)

Telnet into the modem, type "nat" (the prompt changes to "[nat]=>")
and you type (for instance, to forward incoming FTP to 1.2.3.4):

create protocol=TCP inside_addr=1.2.3.4:21 outside_addr=x.x.x.x:21

if you have a perm ip, use it in x.x.x.x. if not, use 0.0.0.0
I just tried it to my winblows machine, and telnetted from my chat
server to port 21 on my IP...

-- Result at my firewall --
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (FTP) from
chat.fresh.co.il (213.8.56.247) (TCP Port 35050) [TCP Flags: S].

Time: 23/12/2001 11:39:20
-- End of result --

In short, the guys at alcatel - I love you dudes :-)

(of course, you can change the protocol to UDP if that's what you
desire...)
