There is no gcc 3.1 yet. When it comes out you will see it on gcc.gnu.org. 
According to http://gcc.gnu.org/develop.html it will take about 3 months. 

gcc 3.0.2 is quite good already. On linux it works just fine for me. on Solaris
also. (older solaris 2.6 boxes will need a few OS patches) on HP it works
except for a minor pthread issue, I think. On AIX I am also trying, but I got
some issues there as well, I hope I can fix them.

Is anybody on this list using gcc 3.x for C++ on HP-UX or AIX yet? I would be
very interested!
