I know there must be a reason for this, but I can't figure it out - maybe someone can help. Every now and then, my Mandrake 8.0 system **wakes up** from APM suspend mode for no apparant reason. There's no-one near the machine, so it's not keyboard or mouse action. It sometimes happens twice in one day, and other times eveything can be OK for several days. The only **common denominator** seems to be that this only seems to happen if my ADSL connection has disappeared - I don't know if there's any connection between the ADSL not being connected and the APM wake-up, but it does seem strange that every time this does happen, if I check the ADSL connection, I find it dead. At the end of this message, I've included part of /var/log/messages. This has not been edited so you can see the exact chronology of events. Notice that at 7:11:16, the computer ent into System Suspend. Nearly 11 hours later, there was kernel activity (mainly usb and network) and at 17:58:37 APMD reported Normal Resume.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
