Like I said - there opinions and facts going any which way, but as far as I've seen, all benchmarks that can be reproduced in stable environments show the mySQL lead to be quite big on simple queries. now - since mySQL doesn't handle complex quries - badly or not at all (at least until 4.1), you'll just have to ask yourself if you need complex quries : if you do, then the answer is obvious - and benchmarking has nothing to do with it.
