Hello All,
I have some problem with install oracle on my linux box.
Here is my configuration:
Hardware:
CPU: Intel Celleron 533MHz
RAM: 196 MB
HD: 15GB
OS:
RedHat 6.2
Kernel: 2.2.19
Software:
JRE-1.1.8v3 - install on /usr/jre
I want to install Oracle for Linux 8.1.7.
When I run the installer I get: (under X windows logged in as oracle user)
[oracle@smallboy linux]$ ./runInstaller
The Java RunTime Environment was not found at à/bin/jre. Hence, the Oracle
Universal Installer cannot be run.
Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.8 or higher
and try again.
: No such file or directory
As you can see the installer search for the JRE in a place that not exist
(à/bin/jre).
The à at à/bin/jre is not a typo, this is exactly what I get.
Any help will be very appreciated. (The support guys and girls from Oracle
didn't succeed to solve this problem).
Thanks
Chen
