This is true if you want to run PPP on the new kernel, but has nothing 
to do with iptables.

I'm not sure how the (evil) rpm system workes on m$ (oops redhat),
but it might be looking for an rpm installation of the new kernel and
when it's not found (i guess you install from source) it crys out.
Try using the --nodeps option.
