we here at the MOSIX group are experiancing the same problems. this is a
bug that appeared in Linux 2.4.3, and has not been fixed yet. It seems the
serial console driver works (the MOSIX kernel debugger responds as usual)
but the shell doesn't seem to recieve any input.
