Greetings all.. I have been experiencing problems for a while now with transient bounces of mail from Hotmail with a '554 Transaction failed' message (And not that common, actually.. But still, it happens too often). Searching the 'net, it seems that I am not alone.. But there doesn't seem to be any solution offered there either. As I can see it, assuming the original problem isn't on my side, there are two possible solutions I can try. Either somehow demoting the 554 from a permanent error to a service-not-available status, or making some automated resending scheme for mails bouncing from Hotmail. If anyone has any insight as to how I might implement this, or any other solution you can think of, I'd be grateful. My setup is Mandrake 7.2, with postfix for the mail agent. Running on Nonstop ADSL (probably switching ISP soon - most likely to Actcom), Dynamic IP & dyndns.org for dynamic DNS services (the machine identifies itself as belonging to that domain - magician.homeip.net) Any input would be appreciated, -Eyal (aka [EMAIL PROTECTED]) ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
