I encountered one thing which is really strange... Before you start your X - insmod (or modprobe) your TV card, then start X. Make sure that your XF86Config includes "v4l" driver loading.. After that - Xv takes place instead of DGA - which gives me MUCH better display (full screen on 1600x1200) then with the DGA...
