Maybe if someone besides me bother to move his (or her) ass and try to
help me with that, it will happen more quickly. It's not easy to try to
check why Hebrew support doesn't work for 3 different providers (each of
which seems to change their interface 2 times a year), when all you have
is one Cellcom Nokia 5120 phone which doesn't have Hebrew SMS capabilities
(at least, as far as I know - it's not the 5120i).
Again, let me repeat - I only have a Cellcom phone, and it does not seem
to support Hebrew SMS. So if anyone has a different configuration, and likes
my script to work with it and they checked that it doesn't, do something
about it - if you can't try to fix the script yourself (it's a nice exercise
in Perl and HTTP!), at least give me all the information and help needed
for me to fix it.
For all I know, Hebrew might work, at least on some of the providers,
with sendsms out-of-the-box!! If it doesn't work, I'd like to hear about
it - but ONLY from someone who succeeded in getting a Hebrew SMS using the
web form, but sendsms didn't succeed in doing that, and that someone would
also need to allow me to send them test messages. So far nobody bothered
to do that.
I've left in sendsms a few comments about how hebrew support can perhaps
be added, if it doesn't work out-of-the box. But again, I don't even know
if it doesn't work, or what are the symptoms...
P.S. I'm still looking for someone from the 056 area code (Pelephone) to
check sendsms (or just give me their number and I'll send them a message
myself!). 051 seems to work correctly (from two testers). no 050 testers
came forward, as well...
P.S.#2 I'm also looking for someone with a new 057 Mirs number that could
volunteer to check messages I send them (I'm not interested in checking
the defunct 03 area code). I promise that if someone like that comes
forward, I'll quickly add Mirs support (and not let it drag on like the
Pelephone support).
P.S.#3 all the bitching in this posting isn't towards Tomer personally - he
helped me test during the first stage of my adding the Pelephone support.
Ranny Budnik helped me test the second stage (the web interface).
