i got a weird response:
i did:
fslsfonts -server localhost:7101|grep -i 8859-8|wc -l
output was : 38
( i.e. the ttf font server has 38 hebrew fonts )
i went to /usr/share/fonts/truetype and did:
ttmkfdir|grep -i 8859-8|wc -l
output was: 10
( i.e. the directory the xfstt is configured to has only 10 hebrew fonts
)
that means there are only 10 hebrew fonts in the truetype dir, but 38
served by the server ...
note: 1. all fonts were uniq ( i.e. |sort|uniq did not change the
output )
2. I checked that the font server is configured to the above
directory ...
3. there are no subdirectories wuth fonts
any idea ?

btw: how do I stop xfstt from changing the fonts names to -ttf-*-*-*....
