XawTV although a bit ugly supports nice features, like Xv support (much
smoother integration with other windows), zapping channels with the
mouse wheel and supports TV remote controls (if lirc supports your
remote).
Oh, and speaking of Xv, if you're on XFree 4.0 and have a 'Load v4l' in
your XF86Config, you have 'rootv' to display TV on your background :)

Actually, bttv should load tuner itself in the latest versions,
matching the type to the card (especially if the card is detected
by the bttv ID).
