Hi,

Well, I'm not shor what lspci -nv stands 4. I didn't
find it on my Linux, BUT cat /proc/pci gave me the
following :

Bus 0, device 5, function 0:
Communication controller: Unknown vendor Unknown
device (rev 0).
      Vendor id=151f. Device id=0.
      Medium devsel. IRQ 11.
      I/O at 0xd400 [0xd401].

and setserial -v /dev/ttyS2

/dev/ttyS2, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xd400, IRQ: 11

Now, I had a little conversation with the manufacturer
of that modem. He insists that his modem is a
Hardware, Controller based modem. He had no answer to
y M$2k identified it as HCF and he also pointed out
that I can try the standard modem driver in M$2k and
if that works that it'll be prof that it is a hardware
modem.

It did work with the standard modem driver.

So my guess is that our "Pals", know it all, at M$
just decided that they better do everything deferent
and make me upgrade my hardware again just to put a
new modem in it.

In short I think that that modem is a hardware modem
and M$ just identify it deferentlly.

What can I say, it works with my Linux ;-)
