If I may argue please..

I do not know if you tried other programming Linux with C++ for example, but 
Linux is actually catching up in terms of RAD tools. Sure, Its very hard to 
compare KDevelop to Visual Studio, but there are other commercial Linux RAD 
tools for C++ such as Omnis Studio for Linux, as well as KDE Studio 
(regarding KDE Studio and KDevelop - they are not just for writing KDE 
Applications, but any other applications - regardless of their project name, 
whether it's a text application or GNOME applications). For those who like 
Visual Basic - I might suggest KBasic (don't start with flames please, I hate 
visual basic just like many people here do)..

So before you're going to throw 5,000+ shekels, I suggest you check the 
alternatives..
