I installed today my linux box again (RH6). I installed also KDE1, but since I am a KDE2 user installed it later from sources. I made a small script for loading KDE2 (just setting the path, ld_library_path, qtdir and so on) and then called the standard kde startkde script. I made an entry in GDM for kde2 and now I have kde2 and kde1 running on the same machine. If I log as "kde1" i see a kde1 desktop while I log as "dgi" I cann see the kde2 desktop. I even tried to load kde1 programs from the kde2 desktop and it worked! I think it works the other way too. There is not much of a use with this system, since the main reason why to still use kde1 programs is kdevelop, which is still better for kde1, but the kde2 version is getting better. and there is kdestudio which is also great. - diego ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
