Actually - the picture shows KDEstudio clearly with a few features only
available in the 'gold' version - most notibly the paramter hints/tooltips.
I'd be willing to send a scan of the box to anyone who so wishes.

So you

When we ordered the box, KDE studio wasn't 2.0, that is right. but I'd still
expect the binary to run on a supported platform,as listed on the box(and
I'm not talking about functionality here - just not segfaulting immidielty
would have been nice), or the source to compile properly - else, why bother
puting it in at all ?

Second - the list of tools available in PowerPlant clearly state that KDE
studio is included (browsing down the list from that link - look here :
http://www.thekompany.com/products/powerplant/software/Tools/IDE.php3?dhtml_
ok=1) and so the hard copy list that comes in the box (again - scans are
available on request).
Third - the 'gold' version wasn't anounced - there wasn't even a mention of
it anywhere - it came as quite a surprise for me it was, when it was
anounced. When we ordered the box we were under the impression that there is
only one edition of KDE studio, and we will be getting it.
> Sorry Oded, but I think you're mistaking here...
I know I'm mistaken - it was a mistake buying the box.
I'm not saying KDEstudio isn't good or anything - it's a nice piece of
software, really in par with the second top notch IDE for linux, and we use
if sometimes here too. but it clearly was a mistake to buy a box full of
stuff we got in our distribution or can download from the internet. it would
have been much better to just buy the 'gold' edition, which is the only
component that we actually meant to buy. but of course, since we already
bought a product, found out it wasn't what we was lead to believe it was,
and got a nice retort as a response, I don't see my company doing much more
buisness with theKomany.com.
> So yes, I think $35 for KDE Studio is WAY cheap then anything.
Cheap it is - but paying $100 ($50 + %50 S&H) for a box full of freely
available software is very very expensive.
> Hope this clear things.
Yes, it does.
