Shalom Lekulam,

If you receive this message by email, then you are on our list of people
who expressed interest in Linux-related activities at Bar-Ilan. Thank you
to everyone who responded to our previous notices and/or came to the
organizational meeting last week. A special thank you to those who have
already volunteered to give lectures and other help (we will be in touch
with you individually soon).

We are busy planning the activities. There will hopefully be two lecture
series, one beginners, one advanced, plus an installation party. The
provisional schedule is:

2. Wed Mar 14 19:45   Installation
3. Wed Mar 28 19:45   Introduction to X windows
4. Wed May  9 19:45   Basic system admin
5. Wed May 23 19:45   Basic networking
6. Wed Jun  6 19:45   Hebrew support

ADVANCED LINUX SERIES:

6. Wed Jun 13 19:45   Kernel programming

*** INSTA-PARTY : Mon April 2 (late afternoon/early evening) ***
(The last day of classes before the Pesach break. A perfect time to
     clean windows.)

PLEASE NOTE ALL DATES AND TITLES ARE STILL PROVISIONAL!!

We will hopefully write again in a few weeks with accurate information,
after we have finalized lecturers and locations. A web page is also being
set up. And we are conducting advanced simulations to determine just how
much coffee we should buy.

If you have friends who might also be interested, please do forward this
email to them. Friends, if you are interested, send us your email address
and we'll make sure you get further announcements.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Schiff
