such an organization makes sure that their linux server has proper
definitions for a DNS server to query fo such purposes, and that this DNS
server replies in a descent time.
in fact, not only such an organization sets these things up properly - but
rather anyone running a unix machine that should accept connections from
the net.
and don't run and say "but DNS is set up properly on that machine" -
evidence is that it's not, so check out what the problem might be, and fix
it.
