Also see my other reply in this thread. Actually, "if" is one of the few
"primitive syntax" constructs in Scheme. (I'm using R5RS terminology. For
me it is the only standard worth caring about. No doubt someone will try
to counter with the silly argument that there are no R5RS implementation)
