Hi all,
I tried the problem on my system, but without success.
Xserver give no errors. It just don't know what display failed to switch the
mode & continue loading - I can know it because my HD works hard to bring
up X-system. (Display at that time is in an unstable state, I hear it's
trying to switch mode again and again)
All the parameters should acceptable by both videocard & display, - I
checked it.
(I mean I've read nearly all the existing docs/pages about manual generation
of XF86Config)
I tried different xservers, one what come with suse, and the xfree.
Both severs have the problem.
The problem isn't constantly reproducible, from ~10 boots I have 1 such
case.
That doesn't allow me to experiment with XF86Config !!
I just can't know whatever I solved the problem or not. (It's a RE type
problem :)
I can't work in 640x480 mode, I prefer to load X twice if necessary.
Hopefully, Xfree 4.0 will be better.
Regards,
Maxim
