According to ATA you are not able to boot a comp out of a slave IDE.
Moreover, you are not able to boot it from secondary IDE. you can boot
it from primary master.
ATX lets you boot computer from other sources. I would reccommend you to
move zip to /dev/hdc, and let the comp do it with /dev/hda.
However, in case you are using ATX, there is a way to do it. Find it and
tell
me how :))
