I never heard of a 15" that can do 85Hz, unless you are talking about
interlaced. in which case I'd recommend against it, interlaced modes
make it very hard to read text off the screen.

my old 17" could do it in 75Hz although the spec said 70, I drove it
over the specs, and after 3 years it just lost focus and is really bad
for the eyes today.

now I have a 21" and I only use it within specs, luckily I made sure
those were good, high ones, so I do 1152x864 at 93Hz (I like 1600x1440
in windows - you just set the master font size at 150%, but in Xwindows
it's just too tedius to resize one by one all the fonts in all the
applications, some can't be resized at all)
