the JDK is the JDK, the same API, JRE and tools. if you mean is Emacs
better than J++ for development, it's nothing to do with Java, and you
may start a religious war.
there are some tools I know of in linux that don't exist for Windows
outside the standard Sun JDK like Kaffe and such, look up in FreshMeat
for more details.
