 glibc-2.1.2 has functions
 int backtrace(void **p_pc, int n)
 char **backtrace_symbols(void *const *arr, int n)
 void backtrace_symbols_fd(void *const *arr, int n, int fd)
 which work best when the code is compiled with the usual frame pointers.
See <execinfo.h>.
