I believe Shlomi is right and we should accept it, provided that:
1) It will be under a different entry so that anyone can distinguish between
free and non-free.
2) At least initially we shall reserve the right to remove anything that does
not seem appropriate, based solely on our judgment. No further explanations or
discussions will be needed in order to remove something.
Beside the reasons Shlomi raised I believe such an attitude will contribute to
making our site more popular in the local Linux/Unix circles, hopefully even
in the local computing circles. As for asking for covering the costs, I think
it is too early to think about. Let us run it for free in order to examine it
first.
But I have touched here a somewhat problematic point since it is not my time
that is taken for managing the site and there for it is not my time that will
be used for free for commercial interests.
BTW: Beside workmanship, what are the costs that are involved with running
www.linux.org.il?
