I did not kid. the Qt license is indeed problematic, and I'm sad the
free alternative was dropped in mid-development. I don't use KDE for
other, more practical reasons too, though.

it's barely standing up to the OSD, and Qt is Qt, it's not KDE. Eazel
and Helix are doing Gnome development, KDE has no one company with such
a focus. I can't say even Caldera (one of their main supporters) is
doing that.
