Currently, most of the examples are in C and Python -- Perl would probably
look good too, but I don't know Perl/Gtk+

Well, I guess I could give a bird's eye view of those -- you're the second
person who asked, so I imagine I can't get away from it.
[about i18n]

I repeat: I think it would be presumtous of me, considering these things
are still debated in gtk-i18n. I'd prefer to give everyone a solid enough
base, so that when the changes are explained, they can just absorb the
diffs.
