Yep, I used their service. You will get a static IP that usually programmed
into
the modem. The speed.... not sure about this one, but it's possible to
browse
Slashdot with so it's pretty decent.
About this modem & Linux I don't know. I not sure, but if you will program
modem
from windows (there is spacial software for) maybe you will be able to
establish
connection from linux (but since it's PCMCIA it might be messy and there
will be
need for drivers).
I used it mostly on different Palm like WindowsCE devices and on usuall PC
with
windows 9x & NT.
But the biggest problem that it runs as you was told "only as an
experiment". They
run it as an experiment for year and half I belive, but they still don't
have a license
for running this service.
