If file is compressed with Tar Gzip (*.tar.gz) - You should open it in
Archiver and to
extract to any directory you want. Then go to that directory any run the
file "install"
from the terminal.
If the file is a RPM package open it with KPackage and press the install
button.
Go to directory where it had been installed at and run the "install"
file from the
terminal.
