you have to put the boot partition before the 1023rd cylinder. i suppose
you're doing a dual boot so make the first partition c: and have it be
1950MB and then make the second partition /boot and have it be 16MB. that's
what my brother did and it worked.

I'm trying to install lilo on the MBR and when installing , it keeps telling
me "cannot install lilo > 1024 cylinder" and doesn't boot.
