I'm sure alot of people must have laughed when I wrote in my last
message that all I have to do is figure out how to let the LINUX box
see WIN98. I haven't opened my mail yet this morning but I'm sure some
one is going to write me about SMBMOUNT. OK - I found SMBMOUNT myself
and it's really great. As I wrote before, once you get it set-up, LINUX
is definately better than Windows. As I write this message, I'm
copying my WIN98 files to a CD-RW for backup and it works perfectly.
But it's a shame the documentation is so cryptic. SMBMOUNT isn't
mentioned or even hinted at in the SAMBA Faq or man SAMBA. Only by
plowing through all the documentation (and there's alot !!!!!) in
/usr/doc/samba, I finally found what I was looking for.
I repeat my previous **complaint**. As good as this all is, the average
man in the street will not spend the time or energy to get all this set
up if the installation is not easy and the docs are not clear enough.
