I have installed StarOffice from a tar package and in the setup procedure
it looked for a JVM. Since I didn't have a JVM at the time, I skipped it,
and frankly, I really don't know what I'm missing. Maybe a java feature for
their internal browser?

Anyway, it still runs without a JVM installed, so I would certainly try to
--nodeps it.

I'm installing the StarOffice RPM and got a message saying that the
package needs jre-old. Does anyone know what that is or if it's safe
to **ignore** the dependency?

My system is Mandrake 7.0.
