The rumor is older than the time it showed on linux-il - due to a
problem in my subscription to the list (differences betweeen two
addresses), and it was probably posted manually by the maintainer of
the list, after being denied, and of course after a long delay (for
whom it concerns - sorry for bothering!).

Anyway, if you are looking for the origins of the rumor, I think the
best place to start is the attendies of ApacheCon, maybe the list of
ASF ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). If you are interested, I can post a
message to that list (I'm subscribed to). Or search the archive
( http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=apache-new-httpd&r=1&w=2&b=200002 ).

But if it is true, it may be too late, because it should happen in a
day or two.

P.S. I loved Slashdot in its beginning, a few years ago, when many
scoops, news, and rumors, were published in it the first time. I know
that now Slashdot feels responsible, but if this is a reason for
publishing only links to other sources, then Slashdot will never be
the first source anymore. And in any case, relying on "important and
honored sources", like Uzi Mahaneimi of The Sunday Times, already
brought some of the most fictious hoaxes and blood libel to Slashdot.
