Sorry, perhaps I should have been more specific. To answer your
question, no, I'm not trying to confuse.

I did better research this time. What I said is true, except that it's
support for proxy-arping whole *subnets* that had been removed.
Proxy-arping for single hosts is not affected, as you wrote.
The starting message of the thread I was talking about is

It talks about the 2.2.0 kernel. I mentioned the 2.1 kernel above
because it's during its development that this change was implemtned.
Obviously the 2.1 kernel became 2.2 afterwards.
So, to the original poster: this kernel change doesn't affect you, and
I hope this sub-thread didn't confuse you too much.
