I talked about possibility to implement Exchange functions in other
program (like, working with Outlook, etc.), not possibility to send mail
to Exchange server. It's clear that Microsoft can't use it's own variant
of SMTP - Exchange would be useless as a mail agent if they did. But is
there something you can put in place of Exchange and Outlook will work? Is
there open descriptions of protocols and private extensions that Microsoft
uses there?

Well, I'd hate to say "good" when you have to cash out thousands of
bucks just to share your fax in local network...
BTW, does anyone knows good working solution that allows to:
1. Recevie faxes and lately retrieve and print them on NT (better if
there was also some dating, etc. on them) and also print them
automatically on arrival.
2. Share the fax as Windows printer and allow to print there remotely.
THis could be NT or Linux based, and shouldn't cost thousands of bucks -
it's just too much for such a simple thing.
