You cannot remotely manage your windows desktops unless you
use some sort of management console. You can install VNC
on all of your desktops and use it to access your NT boxes
remotely, though. Obviously, that's a bit pathetic, so if
you have a lot of machines you'd be better off with either
using a centralized management solution (Tivoli etc), or
having a win2k box just for that sort of thing (using the
remote install service). Oh, you can also put the files needed
for updating on the Samba server, create logon scripts for
the users (also on the Samba server), and have them run
the proper programs.

Easy.

And if you want to use Linux so much, you can always
install SMS2.0 (*cough* *crap*), and then use Oracle
running on Linux as it's DB server :)
